Hero Srikanth’s 100th film ‘Mahatma ’in the direction of Krishna Vamsi was launched on 15th Februaryat Aluminum factory, Hyderabad. C.R. Manohar is producing the film and Bhavana is the heroine in this film. PRP leader Chiranjeevi, Karnataka former Chief Minister Kumara Swamy, Dasari Naryana Rao, K Raghavendra Rao, D Rama Naidu, Murali Mohan, Parachuri Brothers and other big personalities from Telugu film industry graced the ceremony.
Chiranjeevi tapped the clapboard for the muhurat shot, K Raghavendra Rao switched on the camera andDasari directed for the first shot. Kumara Swamy performed the formal pooja and D Ramanaidu blasted the color bombs for the first shot.
The first shot of the film was done in unique manner. Hero Srikanth bringing injured ‘Mahatma’ on his hands amidst tricolor bomb blasts. Three colors of Indian flag were triggered through bombs.
Chiranjeevi said, “After a long time I am participating in a film function. It’s like getting back to the home. 100th film is a memorable incident for Srikanth. I wish that the film ‘Mahatma’ will be a good hit and the most superb film in Srikanth’s career”.
Dasari Naryana Rao said: “It is a historic day in Srikanth’a life. It is very tough to complete 100 films as a capable hero. I hope that this film will make Sriknath a superstar”.
Krishna Vamsi: “I don’t launch movies in big manner. But the reason we launched the film in big way is, it is the 100th film of Srikanth. So, it is an unforgettable moment. This is not the political film. The story is centers on even a common man can become Mahatma. Paruchuri brothers are doing excellent writing for this film. Producer Manohar is Srikanth’s best friend and he is going to contest as MP in Karnataka. The regular shooting will start from 16th February. We are planning to release the film on Independence Day 15th August 2009”.
Srikanth said, “Krishna Vamsi is my favorite a director. He prepared a wonderful story. I hope that this film ‘Mahatma’ will become a mile stone in my career. Producer Manohar is my friend and I thank him for producing this special movie. I thank Chiranjeevi, Dasari Naryana Rao, K Raghavendra Rao, D. Rama Naidu, Kumara Swamy, all my friends and guests for attending this occasion.”
