Kotha Bangaru Lokam Review

Story: Balu (Varun Sandesh)is the only son of Fruit merchant Yerramsetti Vishnu murthy( Prakash raj).He is studying inter 2nd year in SVC Residential Jr.
College.Swapna(Shweta Prasad), the only daughter of Kasi Viswanatham( Ahuti Prasad) joins the same college.Gradually they fall in love, after a Lovely outing their public
romance picture is published in a news paper and they got seperated by the Principal( Brahmanandam) and the girl's Parents. How the boy gets girl forms rest of the story.

Highlights:

Debutant Srikanth Addala did a commendable job as a writer & director. His effort is evident on screen. He made a well crafted & enjoyable love story.Entire first half is sweet
just like sitting with your old friends and recalling the old memories of intermediate.Second half is somewhat dramatic and still it's fun watching it.
Varun Sandesh looks cool as a intermediate hero.
Shweta Prasad looks perfect for the role, though she may not be suitable for typical tollywood heroine charecters. Her performance is excellent.Dubbing is Good.
The film boasts lot of comic moments that are very situational.
Mickey J.Meyer music is an asset for the film.
Chota K. Naidu cinematography is neat.He has done some creative lighting instead of just lighting up the entire screen.
Other technicalities are fine.

Sidelights:
The Story Structure is linear and predictable in the second half.
Second half has some' bearable' dull moments.

Etc.,
Lead Charecters are named Balu & Swapna as a Homeage to Balachander's classic Maro Charitra.Just like the classic, you can see Balu Swapna names written on trees& walls,Boy & Girl whistling to each other similar to Lights on& off scene in Maro Charitra(Dil Raju is planning to remake Maro Charitra)
